Lovely day to be out fishing so I loaded two beachcasters into the car along with the necessary reels, bait etc. I had success on the rays around this time last year so I went all out with big baits and hooks rather than scratching around. Both rods were motionless (no wind and little in the way of waves) all day until the last cast. A nice slack line bite and I reeled into a decent fish. I got it all the way into the surf and it came off about 5yds out. Thats fishing. Definitley worth the trip just for the weather and there were fish around (small eyed ray and pouting landed by others). There's always next time...
