Happy new year to all you mad lads,,

Anyone been out in Jan yet,, or going in Jan....

I'll be trying next week,, with portland area my target,,

Don't think even went out in Dec,,, mid November was last go...

Just far to busy work wise,,, trying to get money back in bank

After a hard year house build. Plus no income working on it......

Literally both us down to bare bone bank accounts....

Isa accounts wiped out to lol.....

It's sort of fun starting again from scratch.......

Be know new rods or toys,, may even have to try keep reel going...

Eldest daughter getting married in few months, just been told only go to pay for the marquee

Pmsfl,,,, to hold 120 plus people,,,, that's next few bathroom fits gone.......

So a nice January bass next week, will be just the job........

Will this be the year, I finally get my OPEN COAST, lure caught Bass...

If can find a few in Jan,,, that's my go to areas for Feb......

Good luck to anyone still trying.

I guess 90 percent of us are end April may, men,,,,,,,,

To start again.......

I had a lovely fat bass about 6lb the other day. Unfortunately it was on a lump of herring being fished for whiting. It was safely returned like all my bass. The Tamar is dirty at present after biblical amounts of rain and the neaps are never very productive for me. But as the tides get bigger and the water clears I'll be out having a go. When feathering for herring I always use a 28g or 45g Silverhead as the weight, and I wouldn't be surprised to pick up my first lure-caught bass of 2022 that way. PH

Probably the last trip on the boat on Sunday will then be trying from the shore for the next few months. I like a small surf on the North coast, Monday/Tuesday could be on 馃

Okay mate...It's Sunday for us and probably Dodman going on the projected forecast. I did give you my telephone number through a private message, some time back. If you do go out Sunday, give me a call (y)...I have heard there's mackerel in the river ?

Hiya Mark,
Happy New Year to you mate!

I'm out tonite over LW, see if they are still where they were a month ago , when I last fished,
Been so busy with other stuff!

#Chartback/Pearl is this autumn's 'go to' colour for Kerrdiff Lad's 'Wading Night Games', with #Bora/GlowBelly also nailing a few, solid fish, on nights when it's been slow on the other colour.
Lipless, or Lipped Shallow running minnows ,(95mm to 150mm) worked VERY, VERY slowly , rod down, pointing at lure, have really done me proud this autumn, with fewer missed hook ups!

April - May for me here on the Norfolk Riviera. No real point even trying much past mid November here, the Bass do one pretty sharpish and don鈥檛 start trickling back until the second week of April.
The sea鈥檚 thick brown, will remain so and is probably somewhere around 6.5 degrees so hardly inspiring stuff.
