Our quest was a few flatties but we were 'tinged out! More often than not our traced returned with a "full house" on our traces. You'd think i would have learnt by now. Nothing of any size. We did manage two small dabs. Expected more of a westerly wind but got well and truly shot (sand) blasted as it came across the beach from the south.
Here's the nittly gritty so to speak.

Fished: 12.15 p.m. though to 16.30 p.m.
Set up: One rod each. Rig : Three size 1's on each paternoster.
High Water: About 11.45 a.m.
Bait: Fresh Lug from Gorleston tackle, Wrapped blacks, Spratt for tipping off.
Weather: Mild 7C stiff wind from the south
Sea: Some colour, a little lift as the tide dropped.
Catch: Lots ands lots of Whiting. Two small Dab.
Vermin: Apart from the 'tings , one crab landed. Evidence more where out there.
Weed: None.
Ground: Clean as a whistle. No snags, no lost gear.

Cheers to all.

Cheers for the report bluejacket
Seems nothing has changed much down there with regard to the stamp of fish being caught!
Loads of undersized Whiting, and a few skinny Dabs.
At least you got out there and gave it a good ole go 👏👏👏
Your right.....it is a pretty clean beach. Although that's not always a good thing.
A bit of structure out there can sometimes throw up a couple of decent fish.
But like yourself.....it's nice to come home with no lost gear 😁👍

No problem Peter, just posted so those that are forewarned are forearmed !
We picked up a rumour that the dab fishing along the sand at Gorleston was the best it's been in years but on the day it wasn't to be, so that's that.
Maybe next time we'll try a spot a bit further along , nearer the White Swan and perhaps a different part of the tide.
The wind with a spot of rain meant our gear went in the motor with a lot of sand but Mr Dyson's hoover sucked half the beach up no problem. 🤣

Well done on having a go and at least you didnt blank, thanks for the report.
I look in on here regularly so the least I can do is report my exploits, good or bad. I used to be pretty fanatical about Norfolk and Suffolk beach fishing when the round green coloured fishes used to show up regularly. I like to keep my hand in and enjoy good company on the beach as much as anything, you never know there might be a spring run? I'll be ready if there is ! :D

the talk of great Dab fishing didn`t come from certain local fishing shop did it??? I love my Dab fishing and have had 5 trips in the last 3 weeks around the Lowestoft area in total I have caught 113 Dabs and out of that many I have only caught 3 over 25cm that were big enough to bring home!!!! so in other words it`s been rubbish..
