thinking of trying gravesend for the first time any advise on where to find tide times and what tide/time is best to fish this area much appreiciated
Hi there, 3 hrs up 3 down at gravesend,lug ,rag should bring on a sole ,flounder ,bass if they are about ,getting alot of rain this wk,never quite so productive when theres lots of rain in the river,tide table book from Dolphin Angling will give you the info,hope this helps

thankyou thornback if anyone fishing the area soon and wouldnt mind pointing me in the right direction i.e hot spots /distance /rig would be eternally gratefull:fishing1::fishing:

No probs mate thanks for replying,up by the sea school i usualy fish ,not been there since last winter,some good codling been coming up last winter,not sure how its been doing this summer? not a lot of sole reports ,but it will be picking back up soon when the whitting and codling arrive ,september ish,maybe late August? this time of year ,paternoster 2 hook ,size 4 for the sole ,1 ish for the bass, aiming for bigger fish ,2/0 or 3/0 clip down rig long snood 3 ft,20lb

hi there aush, thornbackflounder is spot on with his sole advice, the only thing i would add is when you cast out reel back pretty slowly until you feel a ledge ( about 30-40yrds out) and let it settle just on top of it. also keep you rod very low and to the side not striaght at the water, this helps pin the baits to the floor as sole wont swim up to take bait. you can also put split shot on the snood. hope this helps. let me know how you get on.
ps the tide is 11.43am on sat with a 5.6m tide,
