Hi all what are people using for finishing grip tape on rods?
Most seems to be electrical tape.
But surely this peels away in winter?
I have looked for karakal finnish tape on the big auction site but cant find.

HI
I am using 3M Catwalk tape, from Veals in Bristol on the Channel Special's i'm doing up and as it's adhesive it just sticks on itself.
You can also get it online on uk-hooks
uk-hooks-The Match fisherman's secret weapon as well
Some like it, some don't - I do as it's great when it slippery wet. It can get ingrained with muck but it washes. It's a sod to get off as well as I found out when I just stripped my rods.
When Veals use it on their builds they put a small band of shrink tube over the ends just to tie it down. They have about 6 inches top and bottom of the handle with shrink tube in between.

Here is my Channel Special I'm still not sure on the grip tape, I think it might be the shrink I'm not keen on as it's not very grippy but I will change it sooner or later
