Hi all,
Had a brilliant evening last night fishing from my new kayak.
Caught loads of pollack,a couple of decent mackeral and my first Bass since I started fishing again.
The downside was I lost the handle to my reel,I heard a plop but didn't know what had gone over the side until I got a bite and had to reel in by hand!
The reel is a Penn Extreme,it says RD2050 on the body and RD2040 on the spool,
any suggestions gratefully received,
Jon

To stop it happening in future there is a product called Threadlock available from motor factors, engineering supplies, etc. There are 2 types, permanent, and non permanent. Use the latter if you want to be able to take the hanle off in future. It will stop it unscrewing itself.

Data sheet: http://www.intek-uk.com/anlprop1.htm.

Screwfix sell it if you deal with them http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/sea...readlock&n=&pn=1&pd=1&pi=1&cn=1&cd=1&x=13&y=6.

Just put a tiny dab on the thread, screw up and it will lock it.

Thanks for your help and for the tip about ensuring it doesn't happen again,

Andy,
I think the no. is 01418146565 as it's scribbled on the bit of paper I was using.
If not contact the the other Penn service no. as it was they who gave it to me,
Jon
