Fished east end of Hayling by lifeboat Wednesday a.m on flood - total waste of time. 2 to 3 minutes to fish 25mins clearing weed. No fish seen even from inshore boats drifting down the beach. Many dead and dying cuttle fish at waters edge. Was there for the day from 8.30 a.m but gave up at 12 and went to Selsey.

Selsey East Beach - by lifeboat - again much weed but just fishable - 1 wrasse! Local longliner came in with 6 to 8 bass and several bream. Bass to 10lb. lines very close in he said. He recommended only using fresh cuttle-fish very near to beach by side and end of groynes. Didn't work for me on falling tide.
