This is the firt time ive have posted on the NE forum hope you dont feel it a little cheeky asking for ideas. The end bank holiday in May im heading to Scarborough for a mini break. Im planning a evening into dark away from the family to wet a line. If anyone could put me on a couple of marks worth whiling away the time i would be much appreciated. Also what bait would be advised and help with a tackle shop that sell GOOD fresh bait. Would it be worth me bringing Blacks and peelers with me from Wales :)

MANY THANKS Paul

Great Idea mate - especially if you put them in my freezer :)

Whitby harbour should be alive with flounders etc if you can venture 20 mile further north.

There should be a good chance of red codling from marine drive in Scarborough - ask in castle foot tackle shop about access though as its a bit dodgy these days. I hear Cayton beach can produce the odd decent bass. Robin hoods bay should have flounder and bass. Filey Brigg is always a good bet but never a good idea on your own especially if you have never been before. Again ask in the tackle shop.

Number one bait will be peeler.
