for people who dont know out there stores has made a good point there are independant lifeboats out there they do the same work as the rnli and also help the rnli.so if your area got an independant lifeboat in your area nominate her:clap3: :clap3:In response to Wilba's comments about a poor response I think it's worth keeping in mind that other boards or groups or organisations are also funding the RNLI independently. NESA has so far raised £9,554 through various comps and auctions (£6,500 goes direct to local boats) so the picture may be less bleak than posted:clap3:
we have mumbles raft race down here as you say a good way of raising money :clap3: :clap3:Every year my local station (Falmouth) holds a Dragon Boat race in the harbour it is very popular and a good day is had by all plus it raises a lot of money. Might be an idea for any other fund raisers/lifeboats out there.

RNLI have proper sponsorship forms.
There's always complaints about rubbish on beaches - how about a sponsored clean up? Could you get tackle shops, sea-front businesses etc to sponsor, say, £2 per bin liner full? (Not tried this one, there aren't too many beaches in Glossop, although Glossop Golf Club calls its course a links!)
