Annual summer holiday on Loch Linnhe with wife and kids. Had a couple of sessions so far casting out towards the Appin rocks. Traditionally a reasonable spot for summer pollack and mackerel when the tide gives the mark a bit of depth.
Interesting so far. Far fewer small pollack and an 3 out of 4 foul-hooked. Maybe the shoals are smaller, less competition and they’re being a bit more circumspect as the lures swim by. No mackerel so far.
Usually have most joy on metals, Dennett sprats are a favourite. However, having a bit more luck with a couple of chunkier pollack using some Deezee shads on jig heads. Slow retrieve and jigging in deeper water.

Going to try out the float at another couple of marks and maybe have a look at bait fishing for flatties in some of the shallow sandy bays. Will update as and when.
