hi all, well the good news ... no blank! managed a small whiting (cough 13cms long haha) and a doggie. fished just after the first bend on the inner wall. in hindsight i wished id gone further down it as it was low water by the time id set up and ive since read that the further down the breaky the deeper the water. weather was nice though with little wind so that kept the missus happy and she wants to go again sometime :yeah: result!
tactics, well erm i had a few chucks with some mackerel feathers (on a telescopic travel rod!), soon got bored so added small chunks of lug to each one and lobbed it out! on my second rod i had full lug on a 2 hook flapper and didnt have a touch on either until the sun went down. first fish went to the telescopic, the mighty whiting registering a huge bite on the rod rest! the missus was pleased to see a fish on the 3rd trip shes been on with me and so was i :notworthy . re-baited the feathers and lobbed it out to around the same place and within minutes the telescopic was going nuts again! i must admit the highlight of the night was feeling the doggie duck and dive on such light tackle.
well, she's already said she wants to go again next sat so any advice to get us more fish and keep her interested in fishing will be appreciated! thanks
