Just bought Honda outboard to use as an auxiliary and trying to find year of manufacture as previous owner didn't know.Engine is in pristine condition and only used on a fresh water loch,the serial number is BABJ - 1702863,it was an American site I was using don't know if that was the reason I couldn't find it.Anybody help?

Found it, it's a 2013 but I thought it would be newer by the condition it's in.

Smaller outboards often stay in good condition, especially if they're regularly removed from the boat - my uncle used to have a 3hp Johnson that was getting on for 50 years old before it died - aside from the old fashioned look to it, you would swear it was less than 10 years old.
