Off the boats any way!!!!! Took the boat off Sker on Sunday, 1st trip out since last October! small chop when we went out, and were immediately into the hounds, most to double figure in weight (no photo's as the camera decided to have a day off). Also had one or two codling to around 1.5 lb. Tried big baits for some conger but none obliged. Bottom water came and the fish stopped feeding, so we moved off to Nash sands, very choppy so moved in to between Nash and Ogmore, sea got worse! Tucked in between Tusker and the caravan park for a bit of shelter. Result - a few more codling of around the same stamp a tidy pouting and the usual dogfish. Decided at 2.30 pm to make our way back to Port Talbot. What a journey. waves breaking, big swells and VERY bouncy boat!!! Took us well over an hour to get from Porthcawl to Port Talbot when it only takes us less than half that usually. It was nice to get out, and have a few fish - ALL returned - and to give the boat a good run. Baits of the day were crab, lug, sandeel, squid and mackerel.
