Fish with live eel or worm and you should be in to plenty of Schoolies. Nice Bass do show but not very often.

alright mate, i often fish it as its on my doorstep but its a long walk which ever way you go. the best way to go is to park on aberavon and walk to the end of the beach. a low tide is often best as a lot of weed goes up and down the river. had some lovely bass there over the years up to 7lb but as said earlier they are very unoften. on a nice day you will catch 20 schoolies there of decent size but it has been very poor this year, i had about 6 up to 2 lb in june but we havent had any other good days up there. flattys are often caught there on low tide, basic tactics, i have had a few 2lb flounders there over the years. if its a lovely day then you will also see a lot of mullet and walking down to the mark you will also see loads of gg's in the surf. im going to try there this evening aslong as it dosent p down, got some peelers and softies so hoping for a big un.

the walk is a nightmare from aberavon especially carrying loads of stuff so go light plenty of bass around there crab was good but neva tryed any other bait. but maddies work well for bass where ever you go brilliant bait as a back up plan if nothing else works
and good luck if you do the walk:thumbs:

me and my m8 have fished it alot this year and had bass up2 5lb there, i find it hard 2 fish when theres been a lot of rain cause of the weed that comes down the river. we park at monkstone boat club and fish just down a bit from the brigde. my fav method is free lined live sandeels a hour and a half each side of low water.
