anybody ever fished off hutchwns point in porthcawl? if so is it any good? wot baits to use and wot ground will i be casting on to?

hwtchwn's point is a rock mark further over from the lighthouse. ( to the right as you face the sea ) after the bay which runs alongside the main road.

Hutchwns point is best fished half flood to top of tide you shuld cast straight out for best results but then you are fishing rough ground and should use rotten bottem. You could whimp out and fish onto the beach but it is no way as productive.
If I were you I would go down just before low water get onto the end of the point(you have to cross a gully) and collect peelers (these are without doubt the best bait for this mark. Cast into the area you have collected the peelers from, no more than a 50 /60yd cast. this is an excellent bass mark but you may find it's a bit early in the season yet. You do get the odd conger and pout.
