I`ve a twin cylinder Mariner, oil injected, electric start, Mercury/Mariner built in the USA, prop shaft 13 spline, apparently its
a downspec USA 40 Hp Serial starts 0G082, what the hell does this mean? 30 or 40 HP, if it`s 40 HP no wonder my boats like" **** off a shovel", Dejohn 14 the tramson has been strenghtened before I brought the boat. Any ideas please....

sounds like a scary combination, do you have a pic of the engine, should be able to tell straight away.

Hia.. I see from your pics that your dejon has no transom pan, a transom pan is one source of strengthening that your Dejon will definately need,.. you say that the transom has been beefed up but the quarters where the boat side meets the transom naturaly has a piece put in,... the transom on these boats is only rated for 25Hp so with No Transom Pan I would be very wary of hanging something bigger on the transom,... I have had a Dejon which had No Transom Pan so we made one for her, my mate also had one and we have come to the conclusion that they are NO GOOD as a sea boat them being so unstable and of a very low freeboard dangerously low .... These Boats would roll on a wet lawn,.. my advice to you would be to sell the boat but hang onto the outboard engine that you have, there are better sea boats of a similar size which are 10 x the sea boat that a Dejon is,.. the other things that we found out about the Dejon 14.6 is that the cabin takes all of the room up to only leave a small amount to use for fishing space,.. Do yourself a favour and get rid.....for in the long term you will wish that you had....

Thanks KP, bought the boat and engine together I was thinking about that anyway, I`m going to keep the engine, remotes etc as it`s a beautiful engine, I figure the guy who sold me the boat got another engine cover for this engine. I will sell the boat and trailer on, luckly got a few bob
put by for this, the wife doesn`t know yet Mmmmm I`m playing that one quiet.
