Hi. My brother lives out there. Walking along the beach you can watch the Mackerel chasing the fry inches from the beach. Look for the diving birds to tell you where to cast for your bait fish. You can sit outside the container bar and watch the fishermen bringing the Tuna in. Don't walk the beach as it goes from the harbour round to the fish market as the last 100 yards is used as a toilet. Also don't walk the beach after dark back to the Touareg, get a pick up taxi. There are a few Sport Fishing Boats that operate from the harbour that will pick you up from the Touareg , all good but expensive. To fish for shark from the beach anywhere is good. For the experience, get a taxi out to Santa Monica Beach. 18kms of beach and naff all else. take water (a lot ). There is literally nothing there. Don't forget to arrange the pick up with the driver. Have a great time, be safe and let me know how you got on.
Cheers Colin.
p.s. The Boa Vista Beach club in Sal Rei is a lovely bar.

Goedenavond Haese005,

Groeten Chris

A bit late Translated :).
Good evening Haese005,

My partner and I stay on Boa Vista from April 5 to April 15.
I plan to bring a fishing rod for spinning (poppers and X-raps) and some material to fish for sharks from the beach.
I have also found a fishing boat that offers Bottom Fishing, but they ask 230 Euro for that.
For your fishing rod material you can fill in the special baggage form at TUI.

Perhaps we will meet you at the complex.

Greetings Chris

Hi there Colin,
Thanks for your very useful reaction. We are already back home again. Had a wonderful stay out there. My wife and I caught a lot of different fish from the shore at the Touareg resort. We also managed to catch lemon sharks out there. We could only catch them in the evening around 8 pm to 9 pm. The locals told me that in this time of the year the sharks only show in the dark hours. In the summer they show also in daylight. We also caught a murene! We went two times with a local in a small boat outside the bay of Sal Rei and caught also lots of fish. After this fishing tripo we went to the Boa Vista Beach Club as you promoted. We'll be going back there some time.

Hoi Chris,
