With weather not playing ball for tonight a change of plans was on the cards way 1lb rag from josie peeler crab and macks packed off to donegal bay for a 2nd mini species hunt and conger n wrasse was main targets.

Arrived as sun was setting we set up the rods conger and flappers. It wasn't long for the incoming tide to push the humble doggies in on us with doubles getting landed and among them plenty small poor cod we couldn't keep up with them. Then a wee suprise thornie and a thumper of a flounder.

At half tide it went quiet and the conger rods started with wee straps round the 3lb mark making a show and getting bigger and as morning drew in and at first light the biggest of the night a good 15 to 17lb eel. Then the splashing in the water started as the trout were jumping from the water.

At high it was decided with the sunlight to try for the wrasse and that didn't disapoint either before the lead hit the watter wrasse of around 3 and 2lb were jumping on wanting to be caught. As the tide turned the fishing switched off and it was decided to pack up and head home.

Below jus some pictures enjoy.

Must of admit guys never tryed flounder before as usual round 30 and only fish fingers. Decided to keep this actually not bad eating/flavour wise. I fillited it not much on it but nice.. Wouldn't take anything smaller than this. Underbelly was well marked and deep Grove round tail like it was caught on something as it grew and eventually niped or wore away.
