Just back from a few days in Shanklin and thanks to the guys who gave advice to my last post. I found it a bit tough going especially with neap tides and no fresh bait. I fished the Sandown zoo twice and Hopes beach for blanks but managed a turbot from the stink pot on a slice of bluey.

I would have liked to have had a go from Chale ot Atherfield but I left my absailing gear behind.

Good result in the end ......I live not far from the zoo in fact I hear the lions roaring at night from my place . Next time you come over and you get short of bait give me a pm .....might be able to help you out. Pete.

You dont mention how big it was, is it sitting on a bed spread or a hanky ?

Good question, I had a bit of a panic taking this picture as the phone went dead and didn't measure it but around 18 inches. As I haven't caught one of these since I was a kid, I was well chuffed.
