The first match has been and gone and it’s two Sussex pairs that lead the field.

Colin/Boy band Bond-6pts
Alan/Darren smith-6pts

(Colin and Bondy edge it with a weight advantage)

Colin won his section with 11 dogs and Bond came 5th in his with 2 bass (43/45cm) 3 Turbot and 3 Flounders.

Apparently a few of the hot pairings have had a low scoring man down situation.

Today saw the 2nd match played out.

Colin and Darren Bond now lead with 9pts.

Darren won his section and was day winner with a catch of 6 Flounders 1 Turbot and a 6lb Mullet :blink:

Colin backed him up by coming 2nd in his section with 7 Flounders 1 dog 1 pout and 1 wrasse.

(Team Frank member Baz barett won Colin’s section with 13 Flounders).

One match to go!

have you ever done the irish pairs....? if you have you will know its not all about the matches but the whole week...pleasure fishing i would
admit is far better than the matches themselves....
there is no need to run down one of the best events of the year!
its well organised and a lot of hard work goes into this event to make
sure it runs as smooth as poss....

Not running it down Paul. The venues chosen don't hold the fish that potentially can be caught over there.

jay w,might have won the indavidual trophy...he has tied with
another guy so its got to go back to a count back on either best total
weight over the 3 days or most fish over the 3 days....
if its most fish over the 3 days...then jay w will win....this is all hearsay
at the moment and not a deffo....

Earlier today the last of the three matches took place.

The leading pair of Colin and Darren both had a slip on previous good form….results unknown but both suspect they finished somewhere outside the top 6 in their respective zones.

With other pairs not far behind on points going in to today’s match it’s all a case of who done what today and with quite a few Euros riding on the final placings results are not expected until tomorrow once they have been checked and re-checked.
