Last weekend I went over to the Isle of Man for a long weekend. What a fantastic place! The water is crystal clear, the scenery is stunning and there are loads of fishy looking marks.

As it was only a short trip with family I didn't have much time for fishing but managed to get out for two short sessions. The first evening I fished to the right of Douglas Harbour from the rocks into the deep gullies. You'd never believe this spot was right next to a huge busy port!

I was using the Crazy Fish Nano Minnow on a 2g jig head and just about every cast had a follow (which is all the more exciting when you can see everything in the clear water). When bites slowed down switching colours seemed to get the interest back again. I caught quite a few Pollock with dark colour patterns

The next day I went to Peel on the other side of the island. It was a bit too windy to fish the breakwater on light gear so I tried the rocks just to the side. I was casting into shallow water and didn't get a bite so I moved further around and climbed down the steep rocks on the westward point of the castle to some deeper water.

I had a few tiny Pollock and this (Corkwing?) Wrasse. By the time I climbed down I didn't have long before starting the climb back up again but I think this spot has loads of potential.

I think I'm going to have to go back to the IoM next year!
