Hi all
I'm (very) new to this forum and this type of fishing lark! I'm a fly fisher mostly but am getting to love the salt!!

Anyway we're off to the Isles of Scilly soon and I've been told I can go fishing at least once! We're staying near Old Town and only have one trip to Bryher booked at the moment but I'm sure there will be others. Any advice on marks/techniques will be gratefully received - I promise to file a report on my return!

Many thanks in advance

Spin sandeel/jelly worms for pollack on the rock marks either side of old town and you wont go wrong. 3/4/5oz lead, bead swivel 3-4ft 30lb trace 2/0-3/0 strong hook and spin tight to the bottom. Expect 5lb plus fish and some serious scraps. My best out there went 8lb 4oz but people have landed doubles.

Perfect place to stay with both my fav marks either side!
The rock directly under the end of the runway is awsome for deep spun sandeel or jelly worm using 3 way swivel, or pulpit rock to the right of the bay out on Peninis head (by the lighthouse), rummage under the rocks at lowtide and see if you can find some rag worm or use limpet and target the monster wrasse on the bottom :) good luck and tight lines.

Well I'm back and although I didn't connect with any monsters I had a great time. But first very many thanks to Skeletor and Pzwill for their advice - it was very much appreciated! The fishy facts are as follows - lots of pollock as anticipated but nothing larger than 2.5lb. I had a larger one fall off just as I winched it in - just my luck! Still 2 fantastic marks and I will be back!
Once again many thanks.
