Hi
Does anyone know how to catch a john dory. I'm told by a local diver that there are plenty around the moray firth but ive never caught any. whats the best method?
By the way if any one dives or want to see a major gannet colony heaps of puffins, dolphins and whales etc we have a new boat operating out of banff the same as the inshore lifeboat only its engine is over 3 times that of the lifeboats. check out the site at www.north58.co.uk

never had one myself but i know of a few being caught over mid channel wrecks when fishing for cod, pollack and ling so i guess your best bet is to start off with mackerel and change baits until u crack it and catch one. they are not usually targeted as they are quite rare nowadays. good luck with it and post how u get on.
