Having arranged an early start to the Easter hols, I decided on Hove shingle to see if the plaice were still playing today. Normal tactics, two hook loop rigs, with blow lug tipped with rag my choice offering, blasted as far as I could. A local chap called Don was having a mare with his reel and came over for a chat, and donated his wrap of black and a box of squid to my bait larder.
First cast resulted in a small plaice; so they were playing! It was mostly a fish a chuck after that. I ended up with nine plaice, four flounders, and my first schoolie of 2014 in just under four hours fishing up and over high tide. And not a ting or ling to spoil the pleasure of a very decent session in the sunshine. Thanks to Don for taking the first piccie.
