Hi all , thats me back from my kinghorn trip!
Firstly thanks to findus for the tips !:victory:
we arrived there at about 0945 and it did not look nice,,on shore wind and rain,,but we were up for it.
Went to try and dig some lug,,but no joy,,so had to make do with what we had.(rag worm went off and turned to mush) so only fish baits ,and squid left.
So set up rod with a 2 up rig baited with mack strips held on with elastic,,cast out about 40yds (about the sand bar area) and waded back and put on tripod (mate did the same).
The baits were in the water for about 15 mins and i thought i had a bite (hard to tell with the wind and tide),,so lifted rod and struck,,thought nothing there,,just about to put back on tripod when i felt a couple of small knocks,,reeled in and i had caught my first ever flattie :yeah:, not a big one but very welcome indeed (it was just about 9 inches long),,well at leasy my blank was off,,at this point i was doing a wee jig on the beach in the pouring rain,,i didnt care.
My mate reeled in about 5 mins later to change his bait and he had 1 on too,,about the same size.
We thought ''we've hit the jackpot'',,,but how wrong was i,,never touched another thing all day.
All in all it was worth the trip and to get me off the sea fish mark.
I took pics on my phone but dont know how to put them on here,,but i will have a go later, if i can find my phone cable.
I will deffo be back for another go at this venue,,hope the weather will be kinder.
Cheers
Davie
