Hi,looking for a l/h reel for boat fishing.like most people don't wont to spend a fortune,the right side of a £100 please.

General boat fishing cod, skate, whiting, etc.Any thing I along the East coast.
Abu do a few left handers,so you could have a look at their range. Avet do some but they are a bit over the price you are aiming for. If you want a cheaper robust reel,the Policansky range can be converted to left or right hand wind with a simple reversal of one part. You would probably need to get one secondhand but don't let that put you off,they are bullet proof reels.

It looks like the pennies might have to come out, the best I've been able to find was the Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7000i-LH for £80 posted. As I'm no expert on these reels would this be a good choice for general boat fishing please?

Yes.
I have one, great for heavy beach and general boat work.
Although the newer Abu stock it is still very well made with chromed inner plates etc, some of the smaller new abu's have uncoated plates and lots of cheapy plastic bits. The 7001i doesnt.

if you want something really good , have a look at the abu revo torq winch 4.6 :1 ratio .with power handle .
it will do everything you want and so easy to use . and will last for years.
price about £180 . if i had to get rid of all my reels this would be the last to go !

You need to add VAT to these prices but it shows you a decent range of LH Multis, I can vouch for the ABU 7001i and the Penn Fathoms. The ABU 7000i/7001i are very popular down here
