I'm new back to fishing, and am looking for a light surf rod (2-4oz casting). I notice that lots of people use carp or pike rods for this, but there are also lots of specialist Bass rods available too. Can anyone explain the difference beteween these types of rods for me, if there is one?

Any personal recommendations for light surf rods also gratefully received.

Cheers,
Jasper

Jasper,

"Listen carefully, I tell you only once!"

I got one this year as well, very nice rod to use and a bit of a bargain for the price.
Highly recommended.
