Can anyone advise about fishing the head of Loch Etive,
I was hoping to try camping there for a few nights around about May, if it would be a good spot ?

Yes campings good at the head of the loch with pitches no problem and right by the car. But the sea fishing's pants because of the very low salinity levels up there. And if you go in summer prepare for hellish midges.

camped twice up there, barrs and behind the mussel farm
cleared the stones so you will find a clear spot for your boat
as said above the midge can be a bit of a pain!!!!
there are otters and sea eagles up there and occasionally more.
Take a bit of rope with you to anchor up an make a daisy chain.
keeps the boat in the water, or use one of the many old piers.
The fish are smaller, but sometimes in good numbers and other species turn up.
Above all its stunning up there, one of the best vistas in scotland, camera a must.
