;) Had a good days fishing at the weekend there, went up to loch Etive armed with enough bait to fill a freezer, frozen sqid, mackerel and a bucket of rag.Got there around 9.00 in the morn and decided to fish the mark across from the stone jetty, the weather was dire, a day of rain and more rain, the good thing about this loch is that it very rarely gets hit with strong winds as it is surrounded by hills. Fished this mark before a few times and usualy catch within 1st hour, but on this trip it was to be 3 hrs before I caught the first fish, was using a 2 hook rig with a breakaway lead, the tide run here can be very strong, the 1st hook had been baited with rag,and the 2nd with a piece of mackerel, and it was the2nd bait that done the trick, pulling the 1st fish,a nice doggie that nearly pulled the rod from the rest.it was another half an hour before the 2nd fish came on,a small codling of around 2lbs,again taking the fishbait,in all at the end of the session, total caught....4 dogfish,5 cod and a strap conger, all took the fish bait.A word of warning though to anyone going to this mark for the 1st time, wrap up well as it can get very cold there at this time of year, especially if there is snow on the surrounding hills.
