Hi all

Im very new to bass spinning i have a few lures people have recomended the rod reel and other odds and ends but only ever caught 1 small bass and thats it.

So i was just wondering if any one would like to meat up and you could show me the ropes of what i should be doing like working the lure and what lure to chose and so forth and also choosing where to fish and knowing where the fish are.

I live in the new forest area so just wondering if any one around here wouldnt mind coming out with me and showing me what to do. Just drop me a pm or write back on this post cheers.

Unfortunately i live to far too meet up and help, but there are loads on here that i am sure will be happy to help.

Why not have a look on you tube etc and on veals website(think Henry did a few vids on working lures), may just give you some basic understanding of the "normal" ways to work lures, then next time you out, try pitch a lure really close(where you can see it) and twitch, jerk lift the rod, pause ,retrieve and try different speeds and watch how the lure seems to behave with these changes. remember that everyone has their own way of working a lure, and they swear by it...because it works for them....may not work for others-.....which means.......that loads of different ways work! which is good news as that means you " cant " do it wrong

doing this will prob result in a few bass i am sure! as to spots and tides...short cut would be to ask local shops where is popular(even if its bait) for bass ...as they need to be there to be catchable! then maybe have a look at said spot over big spring low(september/oct usually good for big lows-equinox). that way you get to see the bottom and look for rocky gullys,peninsulars,oyster/mussel beds etc etc, basically anything that holds life that bass might feed on, then fish it as tide begins to flood all the way up to high....then alll the way back down to low...then when you catch(hopefully!) you will know what state of tide that spot is worth trying again.(also try it in diff wind directions as this can make a huge diff-tackle shop should be able to advise best/worst direction)

even if you dont catch...this will help you learn to think about where and why to fish certain spots and will help you build basic water craft skills and very importantly..... CONFIDENCE! which is very important!

If you are from a bait fishing backround(and even if not) deffo worth trying any new "likely" spots over a few states of tide with bait...that way you know where and when they feed.

aslo always worth hiring a guide, even if not in your area, you will learn more in a day with a good guide than you will in months of frustrating blanks:wallbash:(god forbid)
Hope this helps, as i say if i lived closer would be happy to help in person, good luck
