Hi fella's,

I'll be coming down to Devon for a week over Xmas and looking to get a day's fishing in, I'll be staying at Meeth, so about midway between north & south coast's. Looking at the map Bude & Bideford are closest, so any advice on beach marks around those area's, as well as bait, species etc, would be greatly appreciated.

Also, are there any decent charter boats along that bit of coast?

Thanks in advance.

This is on my doorstep. But I'm no expert.
Very little charter opportunity other than Ilfracombe that I'm aware of.
Widemouth is a good beach, still a chance of a bass or two.
Personally I would ring or pop into summerlands in westward ho and see what they suggest, or the fishing shop on the canal at bude.

Thanks fella's, are there any marks that might give a chance of cod?

I think you would have to head up towards clovelly for a chance.
I'm going to give port gaverne a go next week or so, but I'm only expecting at best small codling.

Thanks for that mate, found a few reports online for Clovelly and it looks OK, so think I might head for there...
