Well we tried back of Birds Eye yesterday, from about 5.00pm to around 8.30pm. Caught the high tide around 7.30pm, using lug and rag.
Tried our luck on the northern corner of the lower outcrop on the sea defences, the southern end of Birds Eye.
It was blowing pretty well from the south, so we had some shelter here, although the wind eased as the day progressed.
Pretty rocky out there I guess, lost most of four lots of tackle
However, a 40cm eel became the first catch of the year
This was followed by a couple of dabs, which are on the menu for lunch today, so pretty pleased.
