Was too windy on Saturday to get afloat from the Isle of Whithorn so with a stiff southerly we headed off for a couple of hours bassing over low water at Monreith. Spent the first 30 minutes digging enough lug for the session, we also had some frozen razors which seem to work well on this beach.
The surf was perfect with only minimal weed, the only thing on the down side was the bright sunshine, still, I though it worth a go.
I missed 3 good bites in 3 casts over low water, and I was starting to get a bit despondent when my mate Steph caught a schoolie of about a pound. Soon after I caught a schoolie of similar size and Steph had another. Nice to see 3 fish despite the bright conditions, all of which were returned.
