Hi guys, from south wales myself, but now moved up north (Derbyshire, bloody long cast lol) and in need of help. Will be on holiday from monday and with the high tides, would it be easier to dig my own bait near mablethorpe or easier to find a tackleshop close by if so where... Any help would be so appreciated as so far long trips to wales to fish is costing the earth lol...never fished outside south/west wales corridor where lug, rag, peelers, hermits are abundant.....30 years of south/west wales knowledge available if needed...........

Hiya! Perfectly possible to collect your own lug (blacks and yellow tails) next week. Most folk though prefer to pump individual worms rather than dig!! Given 3 days notice, Simon at The Bait Box, Wellington Road, Mablethorpe can get fresh lug. The number is: 07583 405380. He's also got a selection of frozen bait which will work ok! A well-known local fishermen quite recently took a 4lb cod, just 25yards out on a frozen black!! Send me a PM if I can be of anymore help. Have a good holiday!!
