Hello, Ive been and brought all the ribbon, tinsel etc for tying mackerel feathers. Problem I am having is which knot to use to tie the snood material to the mainline. All the usual knots like the dropper knot, and 4 turn water knot etc arent really suitable, as I want to fish a good string of feathers. Four turn water knot is a good knot, but when you tie a long string of feathers, its a pain to keep pulling the rest of the mainline through the loop several times. I really want to know which knot the commercial mackerel guys use when they tie the mackerel sets, but there isnt many on the Norfolk coast!! I have searched on the forum, but always get back to the 4 turn water knot in various names or the dropper knot. Can anyone on the south coast etc provide any further info please??
