Planning a trip in November to the Maldives and was thinking along the lines of a 2 centres type holiday, by which I mean a week on an all inclusive resort and say 3 or 4 days on a liveaboard. I have spoken to one of the Maldives holiday specialists and they can arrange the resort accommodation and return flights to suit.

I have tried to contact one of the WSF members, Ahed, who seems to look after booking on the Nooraanee 2 for info, but he seems to be off the grid by e-mail and I’ve PM’d him as well.

So my question is fellow fisherman has anyone any experience of a Maldivian Liveaboard or maybe someone has done this sort of trip in the past, if you have I’d appreciate any info please.

If the above doesn’t work out I’ll probably book for a fortnight somewhere and try to get a share on a dhonie for a few days. Any suggestions/past experience would be welcome.

Ahmed here from Maldives. I just came back to Maldives after finishing my masters in Sweden and the last 2 weeks was spent travelling and getting back.. was in UK for a few days as well.. now am back online and connected

I will see the options available for you. Nooraanee2 is booked out for November unfortunately, but I will see around if there is any other boats available for you. All liveaboard fishing boats operate on exclusive charter so please pm me with the dates, the resort you have chosen and the number of people who would be on the boats. As a rule of thumb, put USD 600 for the boat and USD 50 pp per day as an estimation, and some boats would be higher than that.

An option would be to do full day trips on a local boat and sleep at the resort. That would be USD 300 or so. Please pm me with more details and I will certainly help you out.
