A visit to Brighton and a bass! We fished right on the start of the arm as the main arm was closed...

Water dirty and weedy, neapy tide, slung out a whole squid and peeler cocktail while we were waiting for arm to reopen....

Was about 7am, just at high tide really...

Helpful chap fishing near us had scales, to be honest me mate did all the work hauling it up the wall by hand.

Great morning anyway, didn't catch a thing once we got on the arm, was hoping for a few bream but water was bit dirty for them I think...

4 and a half pounds! New PB for me.

lol the mobile was nokia 1210, cheaper than most of the top plugs and poppers on the market, I think the flashing lights and viobration did the trick in the coloured water...lol

Well done on your catch. Bet your glad the arm was closed.

The old mobile trick. Very Cunning! Never works for me, probably the wrong network :)

Thanks for all the replies, I know it's a lot smaller than most people's PB's, but it means a lot to me, I been sea fishing about 4 years and I had a 3lb PB for the last 3, thought I'd never break it, but I knew when I looked off the Marina wall into this fish's mouth that I'd finally done it...sh*t meself big style while me mate was handballing it up the wall.....

The hat was chosen for me for father's day by my 3 year old boy, I get the pish ripped mercilessly at work by colleagues and customers, I'm a postie, but I don't see the problem, I got a bald patch to protect from the sun, and me glasses to protect from the rain....hat does th job fine.

Anyway, looking forward to coming to Brighton again some time and having a fish, lots of friendly peeps down there, friendly bailiff too, seems nice easy place to fish on the Marina....

Size is a bonus but as long as you enjoyed yourself thats the main thing.
Nice to hear the wardens getting a good mention as they had a bad press of late from some. from a personal view if you want a chance of a big bass you could always get in touch with Fishyrob for a guiding session.
My brother had not caught one and on his 1st trip Fisyrob got him one
of 4lb-8oz and on his second trip he got him a massive 7lb-10oz.
Well done and good luck for your next trip
