Hello all, am new to sea fishing been fly fishing for more than 40yrs. Went down to maryport pier to watch match weekend, saw competitor pull small dabb 10/15yds over sand then throw it towards bucket for kid to pick up. Was seen by other competitors and few members of public. If that's considered ok, fishing will follow fox hunting. Was very disappointed that fellow angler could treat fish in such way, was even more disappointed that it was or seemed to be ok by fishermen both sides of him. SHAME ON THEM !

you will see one or two anglers who do,nt do the right thing with fish, but its definately not the norm. linking an incedent that you saw to in any way to fox hunting only gives ammunition to anti,s who will tar anglers with the same brush.
this will damage our sport if it gets out of hand.
there are a lot of clubs striving to use the catch and release method, and in the main sea anglers are a very caring when it comes to conservation.
