Thinking of treating myself to a pair. Now I know the lenses are praised by everyone who has them, but it seems there is a problem with certain styles breaking where the lens attaches to the frame.Although the after service is supposed to be very good, I would still like to avoid buying a pair that is likely to break. Anyone had any experience of this? and which styles to avoid?

M, I have the glass lens 'kahuna' style I think :g::g: Had them some time now and no problems at all.......some of the lighter 'sport' models look like they have potential to split at the frame connections IMO

These are the ones I wear, I have worn this style for a few yaers now and I am not gentle with them at all, I do try to not scratch the lens but no more than just being a bit careful. Great glasses, great back-up service, buy from a good supplier and your aftersales is worth the money you spend on them.

As another choice you could have a look at Costa Del Mars. Had my tripal tails since 02, really good, great selection of models

Would agree with MM re: Costa del Mar.
Not cheap, but unbelieveably effective in cutting glare on bright days.
I have 2 pairs, 1 with the wavekiller lenses, and my new Fathoms with 580 blue mirror lenses.
Primarily for the tropics, but work well in the UK.
Also work well as driving glasses in heavy road spray. The polarised lenses increase visible distance by at least 50%.
