I fished the bank last night on the dropping tide at around Marker 18, well it would of been Marker 18 if the recent storms hadnt obliterated the shingle-bank and up-rooted lots of the marker posts...What used to be a bad walk along the bank is now a very-bad walk because virtually the whole bank needed to be rebuilt after the recent storms and so its now mostly loose shingle.
Anyway i drove down from Basingstoke and stopped at my usual haunt which is New Milton. I popped into Lonis to get my bait and up to date info on whats been getting caught in the last week or so. Lonis has a great range of fishing equipment and is run by a Chap called Garry and and his assistant Pete. They are always great with their advice and are usually bang on with venue advice... I missed the Chippy (LINS) by 5-mins which gave me the hump as its prob the best chippy ive used in years..
After getting advice from Garry i decided on the Shingle-Bank and approx a 1 mile walk later i set up on the shingle.
I fished from about 3pm until 9pm when the tide made it unfishable but only managed to pull in 2 Whiting one of which could of been a keeper. Lovely afternoon and evening and even nodded off at one point. Great location if you want lots of space to yourself and very few bait-hunting Dogs being walked especially after dark...
Has anyone had some good catches up on the bank recently ?
Gotta go im just about to prepare and cook that Imaginary 10lb Bass that i bagged last night !!!!...
