Decided to brave the rain and fish Milford docks this eve. 2 chaps already fishing when I arrived so set up on the dock entrance side and cast to the right. Bait was rag left over from Monday which has been in my car boot since. The rain eased and there was no wind. First cast was a double shot, unfortunately not fish! It was my new fishing friends. Oops. Cast even more to the right and next cast got a double of pin whiting about 6in. Next was a larger whiting about 9 in. Then a small pout. Next was a coddo of about 10in, heh they are getting bigger I think. Next a good rattle and a heavy weight, doggie maybe. No it was a whiting and what I thought was a rock, until the rock nipped me, it was an edible crab. Then a shore crab full of eggs. Then nothing as he approached, gave it 15mins and packed up. Wet but satisfied, 6 more fish and 1 more species to add to this years list.
