Arrived at low tide to a steep pebble beech, put out a ground bait bag with bran and mashed sardines to try and attract the fishies. No bites for 4 hours, caught 2 crabs :( , left pi**ed off  . Went to the harbour at Dundee and caught 3 more crabs :( , no bites fished the last hour of flood and 1st hour of ebb in the dark. Poor days fishing. Weather crap all day (wet & misty) Baits were frozen black lug, squid, frozen peeler and macky strips. Thought I tried everything!!

Ah well theres always next weekend!! :)

best to use fresh bait - rag or lug if you have time to dig them.
as for macky strips try to get herring fillets not whole

Guys...

I will pick up some fresh herring fillets tomorrow - and go for a late session over by Wormit, see what I can do with that.

Is it better to salt it a bit to firm it up or just use it the way it comes?

Cheers,

Shad.
