Hi all, please can anyone tell me the .35mm line capacity of the 1970's Mitchell 386 f/s reel that I am bringing out of retirement!
Nice to know but no great prob if you cant as they have already been refilled.
All I can find (in the Mitchell Museum Site is "225m of 50/100 monofilament" whatever 50/100 might be.
Many thanks

Hi,I've got the 387 version including box and instruction manual that gives the line capacity for the reel.20lb-300yd /15lb-400yd/12lb-450yd.I think with this amount of line loaded on spool no backing is being used.Hope this is of some help to you.

Brilliant. Many thanks Fishdog.
I bet in yardage terms the capacity today is greater because line technology has reduced the diameters from what they used to be in the 70's.
