Hi,

I need to replace the heavy ground chain on my mooring, and was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can get some. Lots of places seem to sell the riser chain but not the heavy ground stuff.

I require aproximatly 5m of 1" chain. (25mm ish)

I'm located in cardiff so the closer the better!

Look for your nearest next Boat Jumble. I was a Beaulieu today and there was loads. Or try a boat breakers, they seem to have the heavy stuff from commercial vessels.

try the nearest harbour that has trawlers working from it and go see one of the skippers.when they change their sweep chains they usually scrap it but its still ok for mooring chains.a bit of beer money should secure you some.
