Muddy Hollows

Morning, not been on here for quite a while hope, nice to see a few of the same "faces" still around.
Went out from Pwllheli on Sunday to Badrig, usual mixture of Tope, Bream, Weavers & a solitary Dogfish. Retreiving up the slip there were a couple of lads in a Warrior who had fished the above & had a few Smoothies on the edge of the top bank bouncing a rig over the edge & into the deep. I know Hounds were caught in the bay in quite large numbers historically until they were fished out but wasnt aware of any that had been caught recently, MH is a place that we rarely fish as in my mind there are far better marks with fewer Doggies & Huss! Anyone any other reports of Smoothies around there?
On another note has anyone else noticed the ridiculous numbers of small 12-18" Pollack around this year, normally we are struggling to get through the small Schoolies but this year its the Pollack on nearly all of our Bass marks? The sounder is showing the seabed literally black with the things, great for Tope baits & playing with the fly rod but pretty useless for getting anything else.

Looking foreward to my trip down there even more now.
When i first started going down there 25 years ago i was always told that you dont get hounds on the south side of the Llynn, only on the north. But in recent years we have been getting them off the shore around Pwllheli.
Pollack must have had a good breed a year or two ago - bodes well for a few years into the future!

There were tons of small pollack around this time and earlier in the year off the rock marks last year. Absolutely swarming with them in some places.
