Over last few years I have fished the Mull of Kintyre without much success from Southend beach and on both sides of the Peninsular up to Tarbet. Campbeltown Loch in the deepwater from from the old Shipyard never produces anything. I'm too old to be clambering over rocks so I'm looking for any information on easy fishing spots where there may actually be fish. And not just makrel.

Hi there, the pier in tarbert is always worth a shot for pollock, the odd codling, conger at night, and a whole host of mini species. Inside the harbour itself mini species and mullet, some pretty big. The wee pier at west loch tarbert worth a dabble too, mini species, wee coalies and pollock. Mullet again to decent sizes and if you're lucky a sea trout may put in an appearance. These days I tend to use my lrf and fly rods rather than the heavy gear.
