Oh Please..........
Who says level winds do not create more problems than they are worth?
You are wrong wrong wrong.
The level wind was born from Salmon fishing and has no place whatsoever on reels designed for beachcasting.
They DO cause birdsnests, they DO decrease distance, They DO cut down on amount of line held, They DO give a horrendous line lay.
If an angler is prepared to put a little tiny bit of effort into LEARNING how to lay line with their thumb then most of these threads would become irrelivent.
I give up... I really do..... Trouble is, there are so many stuck in their own ways that they refuse advise and help when it is offered.
I just read a thread asking why multipliers are considered better than Coffee Grinders (Mangles).... I started reading the replies, and then deleted my response, through fear of appearing condescending.
To the decent anglers/casters who use this site, I applaud you, you must have the patience of a saint.
Throughout my angling history, I have always but always tried to help and assist, and never ever dismissed anything I have been told without trying first, but it appears that so many here are all knowledgable and refuse to even look at something which they do not know.
Good Luck.
