My dad who is an experienced angeler said that my casting was pretty good for a beginner and said i should try a multiplier i got an abu ambassadeur six and another reel (cant remember the make) he told me to stick to the Abu because of the spool is graphite unlike the other one being metal. He wanted me to find why the metal one would be a bit to advanced for me??

Distance clean ground reels are 7ht, abu 6500 (abu 6 older version) Penn 525.

I don't understand the spool question, I know when I started some reels had heavy metal spools (stainless steel or brass) which were a nightmare to control when casting.

But now any shore reel will be controllable with a nice light spool, whether plastic, graphite or alloy spooled.
