but will it catch anything ? :)
i was thinking probably mackerel , ( as they go for anything lol ) but will i catch anything else using it ?

You should do mate. I have tied my own large feathers before for cod and pollack. I find them much better quality than shop bought as they mave better components and stronger knots.

I tie my own tiny feathers for sandeel smelt etc for bait on size 14 or 16 hooks!

mackerel, pollock, coalies bass and cod with a chance of herring and sea trout.

it all depends on when and where you use it.

i will give it a go for pollack soon, until the mackerel arrive,

Why not have a go at making your own plugs if thats the kind of thing your into. A friend made some froma piece of mahongany he found washes up on the beach. They did catch a few fish and i rember thinking that his popper looked quite professional. On Mike Ladles website there is a useful section about home made plugs that might be of interest to you.
