Due to the reports of thornback rays being in abundance me and my old man decided to try our luck and fish the flood tide at frinton. We started just after low tide and fished for about 3 and a half hours. Bait used was small whole squid. No bites but a lot of weed to start of with. Just as we were about to pack up I received a good bite but no fish so a personal blank for me but my dad managed a small dogfish just after. Looks like we packed up just as the fish were on the feed! The sea was a bit on the rough side for rays so not ideal conditions. I'm still confident that I'll hopefully land a ray from Frinton eventually which would be great.
